Green Impact
Green Impact is our flagship programme for staff engagement, providing practical ways to develop your knowledge across a broad range of environmental issues with a healthy dose of fun and competition thrown in.
It also gives staff valuable training opportunities to develop communication, leadership and motivation skills as well as acquiring skills in environmental auditing. Anyone with an interest in improving their work environment can start their own team. There may already be a team in your building - contact us if you are unsure and we can point you in the right direction. With our support you can become involved in the Green Impact programme and join a network of likeminded people across the university.
Environmental Management training
Environmental Risk and Compliance training is available through the Safety Office. To view available courses visit the Safety Office Training A-Z (accessible through single sign-on).
Sustainable purchasing
The University's Purchasing Department has created a slideshow called 'Introduction to Purchasing' which includes a useful overview of how to build in sustainable considerations when making a purchase for the University. Visit the University Purchasing website to watch (accessible through single sign-on).
Recommended everyday items and their item number
We have compiled a list of sustainable alternatives for everyday products used across all departments. Please consult this list when purchasing paper, produce for your coffee station or staff kitchenette, and cleaning products. If you wish to enquire about additional items, please get in touch.
