Fairtrade at Oxford

It’s not just about the products; it’s about the people behind it and climate justice.

Who doesn’t like a good cup of coffee or tea? Who doesn't enjoy chocolate from time to time or a fruit smoothie or maybe beautiful flowers to spruce up the room? If you do, know that you can make it even better when purchasing Fairtrade.

Every purchasing decision we make has its impact. Incorporating sustainability decisions in your shopping is the easiest, yet very effective way to make a difference.

Fairtrade is a global movement that partners with over 2 million farmers and workers across 68 countries to ensure fair wages, safe working conditions and sustainable practices.

Fairtrade ensures that farmers receive a fair price for their hard work and supports them in lifting themselves and their community out of poverty by enabling them to invest in their communities.

Very often the farmers and workers who produce our day-to-day products, along with their communities, are at the forefront of the growing challenges of climate change. Challenges such as unpredicted weather, droughts, floods, storms, etc. By being paid a fair rate with the support of the Fairtrade, the farmers, producers, and communities are better equipped to meet their everyday needs and adapt to the challenges posed by climate change.

By doing the small act of buying Fairtrade (just look for the logo in your local supermarket), you support people and climate justice. So easy, so effective.

Visit the Fairtrade website today to learn more and make a difference.
