Marking 50 years of Earth Day

Below are a few interesting links to help you mark the day from home.

  • Be a part of the world’s largest citizen science effort - Earth Challenge 2020 lets you join others all over the world to gather important scientific data about the state of the environment. At the moment you can take measurements in two areas, air quality and plastic pollution, but more are on the way. It uses a specially-designed app, available for Android and iOS devices.
  • Earth Day quiz – how much do you know about the environment?
  • The Smithsonian Institution is hosting the 2020 Earth Optimism Digital Summit from April 22-24. Watch the live broadcast online on the Earth Optimism website or on Facebook LiveTwitter, and YouTube.
  • Take action. You can join the 24 hours of action, taking large or small actions in your immediate environment, or you can make your own pledge.
